WHO Wants To Be A Millionaire winner Major Charles Ingram has opted for crown court trial on deception charges.
Major Ingram, 38, of High Street, Easterton, has denied two charges relating to applications for insurance policies.
Major Ingram won £1m on ITV's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, but the cash was never handed over after allegations of cheating.
He appeared before magistrates in Devizes on Monday and chose to be tried by jury at Salisbury Crown Court. The case was adjourned until September 4 for committal papers to be prepared. Major Ingram was released on unconditional bail.
His High Court case against programme maker Celador has been delayed until the Metropolitan Police complete inquiries into allegations that he cheated in answering the million-pound question when he appeared on the programme last September.
