Frankly I am appalled to read that the Wiltshire Rural Music School has to look for alternative premises because its tenant has complained about the noise coming from the school.

I find it incredible the district council had to service an abatement notice on the school in February, although I understand it has a job to do. However, have any other residents who live nearby complained too? I seem to recollect the tenant in question moved into the building after the school had been established.

I understand it's been in Gloucester Road for 37 years.

Presumably this tenant chose to live there. How completely narrow minded that anyone should choose to live in a building that by its very nature is going to generate noise if they don't like it.

Music is something almost everyone enjoys and we should be encouraging the children in the area to develop their skills. Week after week we have letters and articles in the Wiltshire Times saying there is not enough to do in the town or we hear about the trouble and damage that youngsters cause.

Yet, here are a group of individuals who got off their backsides to take part in an activity they enjoy only to find someone complaining about the noise. Isn't there a way the money could be found from somewhere to fund this wonderful organisation which let's remember is run as a charity.

Wake up Trowbridge (county, town and district c ouncils). Every week there seem to be businesses closing or moving out of the town surely the powers that be won't let this happen to this extremely valuable resource.
