PEOPLE in Calne are preparing for the fifth clear-out day on Sunday, July 14.
The event, which enables any residents to pass on their unwanted goods and take their pick of other people's for free, is being organised by the town council and Friends of the Earth.
In previous years the clear-out has been very successful, and it is expected to be as popular as ever.
"The main aim is to keep things out of the land fill," said town councillor and Friends of the Earth volunteer Derek Quinn.
"The day is a result of co-operation between the town council and Friends of the Earth," he said.
In previous years bargain-hunting residents were lucky enough to pick up items as diverse as a piano and a boat.
Electrical goods, paint and chemicals of any description are not allowed.
Volunteers from the Scouts, Girl Guides, Air and Army cadets and Friends Of the Earth will be stationed at each venue to control what comes in and to help display goods.
Collection points will be open all day.
Unwanted items can be taken to the town hall, Guide hut and St Dunstan School.
For further information on the day, or to arrange for collection of bulky goods, contact the town council on (01249) 814000.
