A BUTTERFLY and insect garden was officially opened at Oliver Tomkins Infant School.
The brainchild of nursery nurse Caroline Belson, the garden was created to give children a chance to learn outside.
The innovative garden is sectioned into four different areas a meadow planted with wild flowers, a vegetable area, a beach with pebbles and stones, and a wood with old tree trunks and insect attracting plants.
At the centre of the garden is a pergola which will be covered with climbing plants.
Penny Summers, head teacher at the school in Beaumaris Road, Toothill, said: "It really does look wonderful and it will be there for the children to enjoy in years to come."
