MORE than £1,000 has been raised for the Great Western Hospital's Evolution Appeal during celebrations of the Queen's Golden Jubilee at a pub in Lyneham.
More than 500 people descended on The Mallard at Lyneham on Sunday, June 2 to celebrate 50 years of Her Majesty's reign.
The fun began with the much anticipated England versus Sweden World Cup match.
Afterwards, customers and their children were able to enjoy the side-stalls, games, bouncy castle and pony rides that had been set up for their entertain-ment.
Music was provided by the Elvis Experience featuring Les Forsyth, who soon had the crowd dancing.
When the proceeds were counted, it was found that just over £1,180 had been raised for the hospital's Special Care Baby Unit's Evolution Appeal.

The money will be used to provide equipment for the new Swindon hospital at Common-head.
This is expected to be completed in November this year.
