WOOTTON Bassett hotelier Simon Collins found some time from his cooking to take a cracking 67-2-0 of skimmers and bream on the pole to easily win the latest Tockenham Lakes Open last Wednesday.
Swindon's Roy Booth, now living in Cornwall, made his long trip worthwhile using pole and feeder methods to take 44-12-0 of skimmers, bream and one carp.
Third was match organise,r Gary Davis, who had a similar catch to Roy but didn't have a carp with 36-4-0. Trevor Wyse got into the frame with his fourth placed 34-13-0 of skimmers and bream on the pole.
Sections Simon Pearce 26-12-0 and Ben Byrne 21-15-0.
n Haydon St's Tench Cup attracted a good entry when it was fished at two different venues, Plaums Pit and Telford Pits, where first and second in the Tench Cup were pegged.
Tench Cup winner was Terry Ayres with 7-4-0, but could have easily been beaten by Dale Byrne, who weighed in 6-14-0, but had the misfortune to lose 10 tench in lily pads. Third was Phil McCay with 6-4-0.
Top weight for all species of fish fell to Mick Rozier, who had one tench of 3lb and with skimmers, crucians and roach. For 19-8-0. Second top weight was Roger Giles 9-12-0 and third Phil McCay 8-5-0.
Highworth ACs Reynolds Cup match held on their Buscot waters upstream, resulted in a good win for club stalwart Mick Mills who took four bream weighing 16-15-8. For an easy win over second place Terry Winter 5-11-0 and Norman Reeves 5-10-0.
Coleview Rover also used two different venues for their first leg of the pairs match. Anglers were spread between their Stanton lake and Buscot lakes and weights were good.

Peatmoor Juniors just got the edge in their second leg of their matches against Liden Juniors winning by just 12 ounces over the two legs.
They had it all their own way on Sunday winning with a 13-14-0 total against Lidens 2-9-0. The match held at Liden resulted in a win for Peatmoor's Mark Kimber with three bream for 10-15-0.
Peatmoor's Gareth Jackson was runner-up 2-15-0 and third was Liden's Daniel Franklin 2-9-0.
BCA AC match at Lakeside (Devizes): 1, Mick Flynn 13-12-0 of carp; 2, Barry Jee 12-4-0 of silver fish; 3, Graham Smith 10-8-0 silver fish.
Peter Gilbert the Isis AC club chairman is enjoying a good run in the six match series on the Basingstoke Canal.
He won last Wednesday's match with 9-10-0 and has also recorded a third place winning his section each time and now after three matches has a perfect three point score and leads the field at the half way stage.
