Swindon Supermarine dip their toe back into competitive water again tonight with their first pre-season friendly.

Yes, it's that time of year already, and Bath City are the first visitors to Hunts Copse as Marine prepare for their second Dr Martens Western Division campaign.

While most sides use these games as a chance to blood numerous new faces and trialists, Marine boss Murphy already knows his squad inside out.

Leigh White and Warren Fuller are the only summer signings at the Copse, so Murphy will use the game purely as a fitness building exercise.

The Marine boss will give some of his promising academy starlets a run out though, along with one trialist 6'3" midfielder Gary Swann, formerly of Hungerford.

"We haven't made a host of signings because I think continuity is important," revealed Murphy.

"This isn't a game to look at a lot of trialists, the main priority is to work on the match fitness and get the shape of the side right for our first game against Stourport."

While Murphy has been biding his time in the transfer market, Dr Marten Premier Division Bath have made waves.

Manager Alan Pridham has bolstered his squad to avoid another struggle.

Among the new faces on show will be Gary Horgan and Andy Minturn both signed from Cirencester.

They will be joined by former Bristol Rovers stars Darren Carr and Frankie Bennett, ex-Real Madrid youngster Lewis Rossiter and former Forest Green striker Jason Eaton, who turned down a move to Chippenham to join the Romans.
