YOUTH arts in Wiltshire are set for a major boost following the appointment of a new Youth Arts Co-ordinator.
Angela Stribling hopes to stimulate opportunities for young people aged 13 to 21 throughout the county to enjoy and take part in as many types of art as possible.
And the project could culminate in the creation of a county dance company for young people.
The post was set up through a partnership between Wiltshire County Council, Kennet, Salisbury and North Wiltshire District Councils.
Ms Stribling will be based at Chippenham.
She is creating a database of artists and organisations working with young people in the county.
Her role will include helping groups to raise funds for themselves and connect with other people and organisations in the arts world.
She will also be offering groups advice on how best to arrange for their work to be put on show to the public.
She said: "There are lots of things going on.
"I hope to be able to bring people together, working with schools and supporting after school and leisure time activities."
