A PUPIL from Oldfield School has been named as the Mayor of Bath's Young Citizen of the Year.
Carly Hemmings, 16, scooped the award for her involvement with sports programmes at the school.
She helps coach players at a table tennis club, has captained and organised the school football team and umpired inter-tutor competitions.
The mayor presenting Carly with a certificate and a cheque for £100, said: "We had a very difficult task to choose a winner from the young citizens put forward for this award. Many young people contribute to the life of the city by helping others."
