PUPILS at Commonweal School were jumping for joy when they raised more than £200 for their upcoming trip to The Gambia.
In a sponsored 12-hour trampoline bounce last week, pupils of all ages took their turn, and made the next leap towards the expedition in October.
This will be the third time that the Old Town school has visited the West African country, where pupils volunteer in schools and learn about the culture.
Roy Jameson, head of house at Commonweal, said: "A group 18 pupils and four staff members will take out items that we've donated to the schools and they will then help out in various ways.
"The trampoline mara-thon was one of a number of fundraisers going on in the school to enable the pupils to go.
"It's tiring enough to bounce for a few minutes, so after 12 hours of rotating.
"They were absolutely exhausted!"
