ANDY Scott is an international music star in his own right but he keeps being mistaken for a different rock idol.
Scott, the only original member left in glam rock band The Sweet is frequently mobbed by Status Quo fans who think he is Rick Parfitt.
Andy, 53, who lives near Marlborough, said: "It happens more often than it ought too. I am younger and have yet to undergo a heart bypass."
He was spotted soaking up the sun on The Longs bar terrace in Old Town yesterday, where he attracted more misguided admirers.
Still very much alive and singing, Andy continues to sing their classic hits, including Love is Like Oxygen, Ballroom Blitz and his number one composition, Blockbuster.
Andy is back in Swindon tonight ready to judge The Battle of the Bands contest in The Furnace nightclub.
