THE panto season arrived early in Calne this year when Snow White, a pirate and a pantomime dame turned out to run a fundraising fete on Saturday.
The Calne Players Pantomime Group organised the event in the Pippin to raise money for the next production. Members dressed up in costume to entertain the shoppers, and organised a variety of stalls, including bric-a-brac, a tombola and pin the tail on the donkey. There was also a barbecue, and crepes on sale.
The event raised a total of £142 towards the £2,000 needed to stage the panto.
Members organise other fundraising events including jumble sales, cake stalls and an Easter fete.
"The panto's an all year thing," said group spokesman Carolyn Cowdry."
