CALNE Young People's Town Council is looking for a new advisor to help it achieve its aim to set up a cinema in the town.
Teacher Mike White, of John Bentley School, has been the YPTC's advisor for several years, but no longer has the time to devote to the role.
He said: "Members of the YPTC hope the town council and the school will enter into some form of dialogue with them in order to find a way forward."
He said the YPTC wanted to be part of any dialogue involving a new advisor. "They know it would be inappropriate for anyone to be imposed on them and they need to be involved in the decision-making process," he said.
As well as investigating whether people want a cinema in Calne, the YPTC is also looking at trying to set up a film society in the town.
If anyone is interested in taking on the role, they should contact Mrs Kingdon on (01249) 814000.
