MEMBERS of Marlborough Town Council's planning committee have expressed concern over the size of sponsorship signs naming businesses who have contributed towards the hanging baskets in the High Street central parking reservation.
Committe chairman Coun Graham Francis told the meeting last Monday that there had been been some dissension about the size of the signs appearing above the hanging baskets.
Coun Francis said that as the central reservation is part of the highway, the signs were a matter for Wiltshire County Council to pursue.
He said town clerk Graham Gittins would be seeking removal of a sponsorship sign over a hanging basket on the town hall apron which is controlled by the town council.
Coun Francis agreed to meet with the town's chamber of commerce, which has put up the signs, to discuss them.
