I FELT great sympathy for the loud noise protesters (fireworks 10.45pm, Saturday July 6).
My little dog was very distressed at the time and every evening since then, at 10.30pm precisely, she has crouched at my feet a tight little bundle of misery, anticipating a fresh assault on her nervous system and won't settle down for the night until she is quite sure there won't be any bangs.
For the momentary pleasure the loud noise gives to the participants (though for the life of me I can't think what), do they realise the repercussions involved? Can they justify it?
I would have thought the beautiful display of fireworks should satisfy them, without the loud bangs.
What about cattle, sheep, horses, birds?
