SWINDON'S £100,000 director of education could be named by the end of the week.
Interviews are being conducted tomorrow and Friday and the decision could be announced as early as Friday afternoon.
The council advertised in the national press for a new director of education at a basic salary of £93,000 which with bonuses of up to 15 per cent could rise as high as £107,000.
The salary dwarfs the £81,000 paid to Dr Mike Lusty, who departed shortly after the education department was condemned by government inspectors Ofsted.
The new director will report to John Simpson, the director of education at private firm Tribal which was drafted in on a seven figure contract to save the council's education authority.
