A DISABLED, 91-year-old woman and a woman suffering from multiple sclerosis have become the latest victims of distraction burglars operating in Salisbury.
The two incidents are part of a spate of such burglaries last week, others having taken place in Pewsey and Burbage.
The incident involving the 91-year-old, who is wheelchair-bound, happened last Tuesday at 3.20pm, when two men in their 20s got into her home in Bingham Road, Bishopdown.
They said they were looking for a ball, but then grabbed her handbag containing her pension money, searched her bedroom and ran off towards a waiting vehicle.
At about 4pm that day, a 55-year-old woman with multiple sclerosis discovered two men in her home in Pullman Drive.
They claimed to be council workers checking if any gardening work needed doing.
They did some work and were given £10, but then went into her bedroom and took money from her purse.
