WILTON Carnival was blessed with sunshine on one of the brightest days of the summer so far.
After a rainy and grey week of preparations, the costumes of the carnival participants brought a welcome burst of colour.
This year's carnival procession took the theme of royalty and famous people and featured such luminaries as Harry Potter, David Beckham and even a bovver-booted Queen.
The quirky cast of characters set off from Wishford Road with the West End carnival showband at its head, dressed as a troupe of multi-coloured rabbits.
The carnival royalty, queen Christine Hagan and princesses Kimberley Hayes and Charlotte Twomey, rode in a bower of plants and flowers.
