YOUNG Charlie Jarvis, who has a rare form of cancer, is set to jet off to Texas on Sunday for the first stage of her pioneering treatment.
And cash has been rolling in to meet the £50,000 cost of the drug therapy that could prolong the four-year-old's life.
Her father Paul said: "We are getting phone calls by the hour from people who want to help us out in any way they can.
"It seems that everyone in the town has rallied round to help us out."
The Greenmeadow young-ster was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma a year ago and has endured surgery and chemotherapy. But doctors have told her parents Paul and Samantha that there is little more they can do for her.
Determined not to give up, the couple have pinned their hopes on pioneering work being carried out in the Bruzinski Clinic in Houston, Texas.
Asda Wal-Mart in West Swindon is holding a fun weekend and fundraising activities. Charlie's aunt Mandy, who works at the store, will be doing her bit by sitting in a pool of baked beans.
Other businesses who have thrown their weight behind the campaign include:
The Haydon Wick branch of Safeway Supermarkets, which will be holding a summer fair on Sunday, from 12-4pm with a barbecue, bouncy castle and a visit from the fire brigade.
CPW Hotcats recruitment agency, which has pledged £1,000.
Swindon Travel, which has organised the flights to Houston.
The Dolphin Hotel on Rodbourne Road, which is holding a sponsored head shave.
Riffs Bar in Hook, which had a whip round and raised £70.
Paul and Samantha can be contacted on (01793) 331344. Donations should be sent to the Charlie Jarvis Cancer Fund, 14 Coln Crescent, Greenmeadow, Swindon, SN25 3NA. Donations can also be made into a fundraising account at Barclay's Bank, Old Town. Cheques should be made payable to the Charlie Cancer Fund.
