YEAH BABY he's back! Self-confessed king of swing Austin Powers returns to our screens this month so get ready for a fistful of rude gags, anatomy references and kitsch 70s costumes.
Quite possibly one of the most outrageous superheroes the world of film has to offer, the comic genius of Mike Myers has earned the Austin Powers trilogy universal acclaim.
Although it was never intended to become a trilogy, the first two instalments proved so successful that the third movie, aptly entitled Goldmember, was a natural progression to reward diehard fans.
Myers originally refused to return as British secret agent Powers but was convinced when he and fellow writer Michael McCullers came up with a fresh script last March.
The trilogy has recruited some of Hollywood's most beautiful women to play starring roles including Liz Hurley, Heather Graham and now the delectable Beyonce Knowles.
Austin Powers's legendary libido is getting stronger with every film.
The journey began in 1997 with the release of Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery.
Sixties crime fighter Powers was frozen in a cryogenic state in case evil nemesis Dr Evil ever returned to plague Earth.
Resurrected in the 1990s when his archenemy reappears, Powers has never looked back.
The simple formula of schoolboy gags and risqu names is a storming success.
The characters names alone are an absolute scream. I'm sorry but Robin Swallows, Felicity Shagwell and Ivana Humpalot are simply classics. The variety of characters played by Myers is breathtaking ranging from the utterly gross Fat B*****d to the ever-popular Dr Evil.
But it isn't just the film which rakes in the money recording a song for the soundtrack also guarantees you a Top Ten music smash. Madonna's Beautiful Stranger and Lenny Kravitz's American Woman are testament to this. Beyonce Knowles' hit Work It Out will enter the Top Five on Sunday with Britney Spears' track Boys expected to follow suit later this month.
Goldmember is released worldwide on July 26 starring Mike Myers, Beyonce Knowles and Michael Caine.
