Melksham police are hunting a hit-and-run driver who destroyed a garden wall and fence.
Officers believe a drink-driver may have been responsible for destroying the stone wall and fence outside a pensioner's home in Berkshire Green.
The woman, in her 70s, noticed the damage on Sunday morning but heard a loud crash at 11.30am on Saturday night. The damage is estimated to run into hundreds of pounds.
Pc Jane Herd said a party was being held near the woman's house and people attending may have vital information on the accident.
She said: "The car would have been severely damaged as the wall and fence were completely destroyed.
"Anyone who saw anything or heard anything that evening should contact us with details."
