CAR parking is the biggest cause of disputes between neighbours, with more multi-car families being one of the main reasons.
Nearly one in four of the 1,000 households interviewed in a Norwich Union poll says car parking is a serious problem.
You may think the space outside your property is yours to use by right, but unless there are local parking restrictions, residents do not have an automatic right to park in a particular spot.
But if you have a driveway or reserved car parking space, you can do something about it.
According the security specialist, Autolok, more people are taking action by fitting a security post.
Autolok sales director, Gary Richardson, says: "People living in apartments and small businesses in particular are protecting their parking spaces.
"There's nothing more infuriating than being denied access to your own property. A security post not only gives peace of mind, it can also help avoid arguments."
