MORE than 1,000 people flocked to the Woolley Festival in Bradford on Avon at the weekend to enjoy a showcase of musical talent.
The fourth annual festival played host to bands such as The Bronz, Solar and So am I, as well as craft stalls, children's activities and a car boot sale.
Guitarist Chris Goulstone, co-organiser of both the Woolley Festival and Trowbridge Spotlight, described the event as a huge success.
He said: "The atmosphere was wonderful, there was absolutely no trouble."
The non-profit event began on Friday night and continued till 11pm on Saturday. It starred 10 bands, with special performances from St Laurence School pupils.
The festival organisers , who are all volunteers, thanked all who offered their support, in particular the Venture Scouts and the Scouts who managed the car park and bar.
Co-organiser Norman Goodman, from The George Inn, said: "Everybody would like to thank all who contributed into making the event such a success."
Children and adults enjoyed a beer tent, a bouncy castle, fast food stalls and a firework display after a day in the sunshine.
Apart from the discovery of a bees' nest and a few entertainment stalls which could not make it, the festival went off without a hitch.
Mr Goulstone said: "I always walk around the marquee on the last night and it was just packed with happy faces who were all there for the same reason."
The festival was founded four years ago by Mr Goodman and Mr Goulstone, Julie Keenan and Kurt Pullis.
Mr Goodman said: "What makes it worthwhile for us is when you look and see everybody inside the marquee or outside on the grass enjoying themselves, listening to the music."
