ARTIST Mike York has turned his talents to brightening up the Supermarine Sports Club, with a mural of a World War II era Spitfire.
The legendary fighter aircraft played a leading role in defeating the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain and was made by Supermarine, which used to have a factory in South Marston.
Mr York, 42, said: "The whole thing took about five days to complete and I had a lot of help on the technical side of things from Martin Bryant, who works at the club.
"I am pretty pleased with the result. It is pretty dramatic."
The 22ft painting was created using acrylic paint and an airbrush.
Multi-talented Mr York, who owns Riff's Bar in Hook, also plays John Lennon in the Beatles tribute band The Ludwig Beatles.
