DINNER lady Eileen Harris dished up her last lunch after working at Holy Rood Infants School for 18 years.
The 60-year-old said an emotional goodbye to children and staff at a special assembly at the Groundwell Road school.
She was presented with a crystal vase and a bunch of flowers as a farewell gift.
She is now looking forward to spending more time with husband David, 65, who will also be retiring next week.
Eileen, of York Road, became a dinner lady when her sons David, Peter and Richard were at the school.
She said yesterday: "The kids are just so much fun. They are so honest, some of the things they come out with are really interesting."
Denise Slaght, headteacher, said: "She's been absolutely brilliant, very well liked by the children. We are very sorry to lose her."
