WITH regards to BBC Wiltshire Sound's Peter Heaton-Jones' column in the Evening Advertiser on STFC and his condemnation of our beloved football club, may I ask him is he a Swindonian or does he actually like football? I bet the answers to both question are no.
This football club has been part of the community for over 100 years. Like most things in life it has good and bad times.
I agree with one thing he wrote that STFC must learn to stand on its own two feet, paying its way like the rest of us do. But to do away with Wiltshire's only professional club is unthinkable!
What would 5,000 of us do on Saturdays? Shop, or listen to you? I think not, good sir.
STFC has for many years been ineptly run, and yes, it does need to get its own house in order.
But Mr Heaton-Jones, we need a football club to support, so if you dislike our town, leave.
