THE amber light has turned to green ... to signal 'shoulders to the wheel' for one mighty push to receive Swindon's heritage and restore the Mechanics' Institite to its former glory.
It is a historic monument that encompasses rich culture and salutes the dignity of past generations who gave their all for so little reward and recognition as they pioneered God's Wonderful Railway.
The moment is now. We cannot afford to procrastinate. We need to honour the past and to nurture its history in order that the future of Swindon is carved with pride that future achievements can grow from a tiny germ of passion, commitment and ardent self belief to succeed against all the odds.
Martha Parry and her loyal stalwart team of tireless supporters have been pursuing this dream for seven years. Let us all put our weight firmly behind them that their dream can become a reality to benefit our thriving community and future generations as a centre of excellence in the very heart of Swindon.
