BRIDE OF THE YEAR: IMAGINE if someone arranged your wedding for you, paid around £7,000 of the cost and made it a day you would remember for the rest of your life.
For Kim Jones, this was her reality in 1991, when she was chosen to become the Evening Advertiser's Bride of the Year.
Eleven years ago, she married her fiance Tim Jones after a two-year courtship.
She is the only Bride of the Year who didn't have to change her name, going from Miss Jones to Mrs Jones.
Now with two children, Matthew, 7, and Ellie, 4, the couple remember their big day fondly.
Kim said: "I can remember the day very well.
"I was extremely nervous, both the night before and in the morning.
"I had a few tears before I went into the church, but once I got in there it was fine. I can remember the service clearly and what everybody looked like in the church.
"We had beautiful weather which was a bonus it was just wonderful.
"We didn't want the day to end to be honest."
Tim also has happy memories of the day.
He said: "A sunny day, feeling very happy in the morning, joking with my friends who were ushers in morning suits - I don't think I had seen them all so smart.
"My lasting memory was seeing Kim walk into the church in a magnificent dress.
"Weddings are a major cost and as we moved into our new house a week before, the prizes just lessened the pain.
"Plus, Kim got to choose the dress of her dreams.
After 11 years of marriage, and 13 years together, Kim and Tim are still very much in love.
Kim said: "The prizes were fantastic and it did make the day extra special winning the competition.
"Married life is everything I thought it would be it has its ups and downs but it is lovely."
