PAV Sandhu was stunned by the generosity of Swindon people when she helped organise a fundraising gig in aid of Prospect Hospice.
The Soultrain event, at The Broadwalk in Bridge Street, earlier this month raised £1,000 for the Wroughton charity.
Pav, 22, from Covingham, was one the live performers, belting out soul and reggae tunes in her first gig for five years.
She had the memory of her late grandfather, Gulzar, in mind when she sang solo. He stayed at the hospice as he neared the end of his battle with cancer five years ago.
She said: "It was a fantastic night the atmosphere was electric and the place was absolutely heaving. I'm so pleased we raised so much money. People have been really generous."
