LAWNS Junior School has received a glowing report from Government inspectors following a two-day inspection last month.
The report, compiled by Ofsted, highlighted the excellent progress made by pupils in English and Maths, the overall high standard of teaching, the positive attitude of pupils and the rich curriculum that challenges children of all abilities.
It also praised strong leadership and management by head teacher Chris Brown and deputy head teacher Jan Hobbs and the support from managers and governors.
Mr Brown said: "It is a glowing report and I consider myself fortunate to be working with such a strong team. I thank the staff for their hard work, the governors and parents for their support, and, of course, our talented children."
The report said: "The success of the school is largely due to the good and very good teaching in all classes.
"The pupils respond positively to the caring ethos and are very enthusiastic learners."
The only improvement required by the report was the further development of the school's systems for reviewing the quality of its work.
