SWINDON'S Nigel Hancock and his daughter-in-law Mandy took the high road to London in his Morgan Plus 4 as part of the Parliamentary Classic Car Run.
South Swindon MP Julia Drown was there to give them a good send off.
The Run to Westminster was this year in aid of the Down's Syndrome Association which is a charity dear to Mandy's heart as her son Charlie, 10 months, has the condition.
Her other son Jake, five, drove down with them to the starting point.
Nigel's Morgan was built in the 1950s, so he and Mandy dressed to suit the part .
The team from South Marston took a circuitous route through all the back roads via Oxford, Aylesbury, Tetswoth, Stokenchurch, West Wycombe, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield and into Gerrards Cross before travelling in fine style to the Houses of Parliament.
"There were no motorways built then,'' said Mandy.
A cavalcade of classic cars from a 1920 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost to a 1952 Jaguar C Type, a 2000 Ferrari and of course Nigel's Morgan converged in the House of Lords car park on Saturday in front of Westminster Palace.
They were met by Formula One World Champion, Damon Hill, who is patron of the Downs Syndrome Association. Damon and his wife Georgie have a son, Oliver, who was born with the condition. Last year the event, sponsored by Footman James & Company, vehicle insurance brokers, raised £26,000 for charity. They hope to top that this year. Anyone wishing to donate to the cause should contact Mandy on Swindon 831090.
