I am incensed having read Peter Heaton-Jones' comments about STFC especially when he said that Swindon would be better off without Swindon Town Football Club.
While I agree that the rent owed should not be written off, I am horrified by his remarks about the football club.
No-one can deny that STFC have fallen on hard times because of bad management decisions by the board.
I am a proud season ticket holder who supports the club through both the good and bad times. I would like to remind him, and others that do not attend the County Ground anymore, that the success achieved during the last 12 years has been enjoyed by thousands of local people who went to Wembley twice and saw the team in the Premiership.
Where are these people now I ask? Perhaps Peter Heaton-Jones was one of them who jumped on the bandwagon when things were going well and the first to put the knife in when they weren't.
All true STFC fans will find his comments offensive and outrageous. It is obvious that he is not interested in sport especially football. I would like to remind him that the club plays a vital role in people's lives and the local community. Life without it is unthinkable.
