Purton won their first league game of the season, beating Marlborough by 87 runs.
Purton elected to bat first and were soon in trouble when Sheppard was bowled by Kimble in the third over. Danny Dunn and Booth took the score to 28 but were both out in the 10th over.
They then collapsed to 71-6, but a record seventh wicket partnership of 82 between Bowler and Gardner retrieved the situation.
The stand ended with Gardner out for 68. Bowler then added 26 with Lancaster, who in typical fashion of late hit five fours in his 21. When Bowler followed shortly after for an important 35 Purton were all out for a competitive 182.
Marlborough's reply started badly with the aggresive Lancaster having Jones superbly caught by Danny Dunn in the third over and Preddy bowled Rogers in the next.
Lancaster continued to bowl with good pace and was rewarded with his second wicket thanks to another great catch from Dunn. Preddy continued bowling well at the other end and picked up two more wickets, reducing the visitors to 44-5 in the 15th over. Joe Dunn (2 for 21) and Bowler (0 for 13) produced economical spells and Preddy returned to take his fourth and fifth wickets to finish with excellent figures of 5-27.
When Lancaster removed Dobson's middle wicket in the 31st over Purton had romped to their first victory of the season.
