A SWEET left foot is top of Andy King's wish list as the Town boss desperately looks to even up his 'unbalanced' side.
A last-gasp Danny Invincible goal gave the County Ground outfit a 3-2 win at Hereford United last night but the manager was less than impressed with the shape of his side.
King is woefully short of naturally left-footed players and he will step up his search this week to put that right.
He said: "I need to have the right shape and it is quite obvious that we are lacking left-sided players.
"It's something that's been on my mind for a while and I have 10 days or so to do something about it."
King feels he is still two players short of the squad he would like to start the season with not including Sam Parkin if a loan deal can finally be arranged with Chelsea.
He said: "The left-footed player is one and as for the other, let's just say I feel we will always create chances so I'm looking for a 'particular type' of player to fill the other role.
"We are not the finished article yet, but then I never said we were."
As for the players already looking to impress in a red shirt, King is happy with their progress.
He said: "I have spoken to Darren Dykes, the boy from Buckingham Town.
"I don't think he played particularly well against Hereford but then I'm not expecting him to be the finished article.
"I think there is something in him that we can build on. So I am keen on the idea.
"As for Gareth Edds from Nottingham Forest, I'd like to see him again and as for Sam Parkin I still don't what Chelsea's position is regarding him joining us on loan."
One player who looks certain to start the campaign as part of the manager's plans is midfielder Stefan Miglioranzi.
The former Portsmouth man made his Town debut at Edgar Street and was one of the few players to earn praise from King on the night.
He said: "I think you can see he is a footballer. He has balance and awareness, can pass and receive the ball.
"I am pleased with him. He emerged from the match and his first 90 minutes with credit."
Town's players are back in action again this evening when a largely reserve side travels to Bath City.
At least two triallists are expected in the Town line-up but King's growing mistrust of agents means a whole host of unfamiliar faces is unlikely.
Players who played only part of last night's game at Hereford are likely to figure, such as Juan Cobian and Kevin Halliday.
Tonight's game at Twerton Park kicks off at 7.30pm. Ticket prices are as follows: £5 (adults) and £2.50 (concessions).
