THE new water slide at Swindon's Oasis Centre has been given the seal of approval by the town's mayor.
Donning a natty little swimming costume/chain of office ensemble, Stan Pajak sampled the view from the top of the centre's latest visitor attraction. And he pronounced it very fine indeed.
The Oasis has traditionally converted people from all backgrounds to the joys of sport, and those present during the mayor's visit included a party of 30 German youngsters with learning disabilities.
From Hamminkeln, near the Dutch border, the group, whose name translates as The Dream Dancers, is in the Swindon area to dance for local audiences and see the sights.
The visit has been arranged by local groups such as the Open Door Centre and the Gateway Club, and their German counterparts.
