ON behalf of Mencap, I'd like to invite DIY lovers to make some worthwhile improvements abroad by taking part in Renovate! the unique ten-day renovating and trekking experience in Mozambique in May 2003.
Mencap are challenging you to pick up your tools for a four-day makeover on two schools for children with learning and physical disabilities in Maputo, Mozambique's capital city.
The second half of the experience gives you a chance to find coastal inspiration camping at night on the beautiful beaches of Inhaca Island.
Mencap will provide you with flights, food and accommodation and all you need to do is pay a £300 registration fee and raise and a minimum sponsorship fee.
If you'd like to take part, then please call 0845 977 7779 to receive your Renovate pack or e-mail: events@mencap.org.uk

As well as adding colour to their world, you'll be raising money to improve the lives of children and adults with a learning disability in the UK.
Whether you're a dab hand with the paintbrush or have a passion for putty skills, the two schools are desperately in need of some tender loving care. As well as giving the buildings a new look you'll be installing a special jungle gym in the play area of one of the schools. When the hard work is done you'll be celebrating the new improved surroundings with a party for the children.
Renovate! offers you a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, make a real difference to the lives of children from Mozambique and raise money for an excellent cause. You don't need to be a DIY or walking expert, just have a strong passion for renovation and adventure.
