LITTLE Luther Frost-Barnes greeted visitors to an open day at Tallywacker Farm in Kington St Michael on Sunday and helped raise another £140 towards his special treatment for cerebral palsy.
The Gazette's Luther Appeal was launched last year after his mother Loraine, of Cricketts Lane, Chippenham, asked us for help to give her son the chance of a normal life.
On Sunday, visitors to the organic farm were asked for voluntary donations to the appeal. Mrs Frost-Barnes said: "Everyone was very generous. We get our fruit and vegetables from the farm owner and he suggested we were at the open day."
Luther, nine, undergoes a rigorous exercise regime every day to help him gain control of his movements.
"We are seeing small improvements to Luther all the time.
"Thanks to the appeal we are now able to have someone else helping with his exercises," said his mother.
Luther is educated at home but visits Charter Primary, School, Chippenham, twice a week during term time.
"The changes are very small but his movements and co-ordination are getting better all the time. He has much better head and upper torso control," said Mrs Frost-Barnes.
His exercise regime will continue through the summer even when the family go to Lyme Regis for a week away.
In September he will return to Advance, a special treatment centre in East Grinstead, to see his specialist again.
