THE name and logo of Salisbury's new leisure centre and swimming pool have been unveiled.
And there to witness the occasion last Thursday were Samantha Pedder and Pete Smith, who played a key role in the design of the new signage.
Mrs Pedder, of Devizes Road, Salisbury, came up with 'Five Rivers' and entered the competition to find a name, run jointly by the Salisbury Journal and Salisbury district council.
Her suggestion was chosen from more than 300 ideas sent in.
She said: "I couldn't believe it when they told me that my name would be used it was really exciting. I'm looking forward to bringing my family down to use the new pool."
Salisbury design and advertising company Trevor Peters then developed the logo to reflect the leisure centre's new name.
Pete Smith, a partner at Trevor Peters, said: "It's always nice to work on exciting ideas, particularly in the Salisbury area.
"We feel that the corporate identity reflects Salisbury's terrific new swimming pool complex."
The pool opens to the public on Monday.
