GOVERNORS at Rowde Primary School will decide in the next new few weeks on a developer for the new school.
The current school, in Marsh Lane, is cramped as the number of pupils has grown over the years and there are now more than 200.
The governors would like a new school built on land owned by Wiltshire County Council in Devizes Road.
The governors have received two firm offers from developers to build a new school in return for the existing school site for housing.
The governors are taking advice from architects and surveyors on each developer's proposals.
Headteacher David Ball said the governors would decide which proposal was the best value for money.
He said: "We intend to hold a public meeting in late September when the developer will produce designs."
The existing school land could be worth £1.5million and a new seven class school could cost £1.4million.
Mr Ball said: "The opportunity to get a new school for nothing is too good to miss."
