DEVIZES couple Sabine and Mark Hemmings are about to undertake a strenuous 400-mile bike ride which will involve pedalling up one of the highest peaks in Britain.
The couple, who have two children, will set off from Devizes on August 5 to cycle to the top of Mount Snowdon and back. They will be raising money to help build a sensory garden at Anzac House residential home in Moonrakers, Devizes.
Mr Hemmings is a staff sergeant with the export and sales department of the Royal Artillery at Larkhill and four of his colleagues will be joining the couple on the trip while another two will man the support vehicle.
Mr Hemmings, 39, said: "Our boss, Major Taff Hill, has given me and the lads time off. On top of that, we have already got sponsorship from arms companies like Thales, Zengrade and MBDA ."
