RESIDENTS of Lydiard Millicent opened their gardens to the public to raise money for the village.
The event is in its third year, growing from two gardens being open in the first year to 15 gardens this year.
More than 100 people from the village, Wootton Bassett, Cricklade and West Swindon paid £2 to mingle with neighbours and strangers in gardens located in The Beeches, Chestnut Springs, and The Street.
The money raised will go towards the Millennium Fund for boundary stones around the village and the restoration of the bells in All Saints Church.
Wiltshire county councillor Mollie Groom was one of the people who welcomed people into her garden. She said: "It's a community event when people can get together and have a chat in a relaxed atmosphere."
Brian Baker, 54, of Stone Lane, is responsible for organising the event.
He said: "It went very well, a great success.
"We would like it to become an annual event, it breaks down barriers and is good for the village.
"It was a lovely afternoon and we were lucky with the weather."
