HYPNOTHERAPISTS and reflexologists are not the kind of practitioners you expect to find in a hospital.
But Swindon's Princess Margaret Hospital welcomed them and other unusual therapists to a complementary therapy day held in aid of its Evolution Appeal.
More than 20 therapists converged on the event in the hospital's social club offering people the chance to try something new.
The appeal has set out to raise money for the new Great Western Hospital and ensure it has the best possible facilities. This event was organised by midwife Tracy Vine, 30, from Chippenham and her colleagues in Lambourn maternity ward.
They want to raise money for a mother and baby courtyard so that new families have a place to relax.
She said: "I am interested in complementary therapies, they don't take the place of modern medicine but can be used alongside it.
"We had a really good response to the event from members of the public and hospital staff.
"We think we could have raised as much as £750."
