SINCE we moved to Westbury nearly 20 years ago one of the best things we discovered here was the delicious bread from Raines baker shop so much better than the flaccid, tasteless stuff sold as bread in most supermarkets.
Children brought up on this will never know how wonderful traditionally baked bread can taste.
We, as a family, are very sorry and upset that this excellent baker's shop has closed down. Admittedly their bread was rather expensive but the pleasure one derived from eating it more than compensated.
Now we don't know what to do! I have even considered having a go at bread-making myself, but even as a retired person and have time for this new venture, I don't think I have the necessary patience or skill.
Never mind, maybe I'll lose a bit of weight living on Ryvita.
