THE two-leg Airsprung event fished at Blue Circle Lakes produced some good catches.
Phil Eggleton, of Bradford, won the first leg with a mixed catch of carp and chub weighing 19lb 5oz, taken on both pole and waggler fished sweetcorn and pellets on a 14 hook.
Runner up was Mick Withey, of Westbury, with an all-carp catch weighing 18lb 2oz, taken on pole fished cat meat on a 12 hook. He was followed by Kelvin Oliver, of Trowbridge, with a carp catch weighing 15lb 10oz, taken on pole fished cat meat on a 14 hook.
Other placings: 4 Andy Kitchener, Hilperton, 11lb 9oz; 5 Joe Amaldi Jnr, Westwood, 6lb 10oz; 6 Ian Stainer, Trowbridge, 6lb 9oz.
The second leg was fished later in the day and better weights were recorded.
Ian Stainer, of Trowbridge, won with a mixed catch of carp and bream weighing 38lb 13oz, taken on pole fished sweetcorn and cat meat on a 14 hook. Mick Withey again took second spot with an all-carp catch weighing 36lb 7oz, taken on waggler and method feeder fished pellets on a 14 hook.
Mick Dean, of Atworth, was third with a carp catch weighing 26lb 4oz, taken on method feeder fished red maggots on an 18 hook.
The overall winner was Mick Withey, with 54 lb 9oz, followed by Ian Stainer, 45lb 6oz, and Phil Eggleton, 36lb 5oz.
Other placings: 4 Martin Atkinson, Trowbridge, 25lb 13oz; 5 Mark Green, Trowbridge, 25lb; 6 Roger Green, Trowbridge, 18lb 13oz.
There were some good weights in the Chippenham evening match on Monday on the Avon at Chippenham.
Mick Ash, of Chippenham, won with a mixed catch of bream and tench weighing 11lb 12oz, taken on pole-fished worm on an 18 hook. Mark Wooldridge, of Chippenham, was second with an all-roach catch weighing 8lb 15oz, taken on pole-fished hemp on an 18 hook.
He was followed by Guy Manners, of Calne, with a mixed bag of bream and perch weighing 7lb 2oz, taken on legered worm on an 18 hook.
Other placings: 4 Richard Clarke, Chippenham, 6lb 12oz; 5 Steve Palmer, Chippenham, 6lb 8oz; 6 Nigel Smith, Chippenham, 6lb.
Crookwood Lake was the venue on Wednesday for the final match in the Devizes evening series and competitors enjoyed some fine sport.
Darren Scott, of Swindon, won with a mixed catch of tench and roach weighing 17lb 7oz, taken on pole-fished casters on a 20 hook. Runner-up was Alan Brown, of Swindon, with a mixed bag of crucian carp and roach weighing 15lb 5oz, taken on whip-fished squats on a 22 hook.
He was followed by Rob Kepner, of Melksham, with an all-tench catch weighing 14lb 10oz, taken on pole-fished worm on an 18 hook.
The overall winner of the series was Devizes matchman Kevin Rowles with 51 points.
