OUTSTANDING performance is promised by SEAT as the manufacturer launches its most powerful and sporting car to date.
The Leon Cupra R rewrites the hot-hatch rule book by combining performance with good equipment levels and safety.
It has been built to give 210 bhp and at an on-the-road price of £16,995 SEAT claims it beats competitors hands down.
Reaching a top speed of 147 mph and 0-62 in 7.2 seconds, the Leon Cupra R has a close-ratio, six-speed gearbox.
The SEAT agile chassis concept (ACC) delivers more sporty and responsive driving through revised suspension geometry, more direct steering and new suspension mounts.
Included in this sporty package are 18-inch alloy wheels and competition-developed Brembo brakes.
The safety systems installed include ABS, emergency brake assist, electronic stability programme and traction control with electronic differential.
The designers have put effort into giving the Cupra R a look that instantly distinguishes it from other Leons, both inside and out.
Lowered suspension, lower bumpers, deep side skirts and extended wheel arches give it a dynamically low side profile.
All body mouldings, handles and mirrors are finished in the body colour and there is a choice of just three yellow, black or red.
The interior is no less striking for its all-black theme. Everything from the dashboard through upholstery, carpeting and door panels to the sun visors is black.
Standard equipment includes climate control, electric windows, twin front and side airbags, a six-CD player and a multi-function computer.
