SWINDON Animal Sanctuary is looking for an animal lover to take over its dog rescue activities.
The charity has rescued and re-homed more than 350 abandoned dogs since it was set up in 1986. It is also fundraising to build a permanent sanctuary and has so far raised more than £120,000.
The sanctuary is looking for a committed volunteer after the previous co-ordinator, Susan Murton, resigned due to personal circumstances.
The role of dog rescue co-ordinator is a voluntary position and the person would work closely with the council dog warden and Drove Veterinary Surgery on Croft Road, which is where Swindon Council or members of the public take strays or abandoned pets.
Joe Tully, spokesman for the sanctuary, said the suitable candidate must be level-headed, with a sociable and diplomatic personality and be willing to rise to a challenge. They must have experience with dogs.
Anyone interested should call 07050 659824 or email vacancy@animalsanctuary.info.
