TODAY Mayor Stan Pajak issues a rallying call to the people of Swindon to help clean up our town.
His views are echoed by the Evening Advertiser.
That is because, at present, parts of our town resemble something more like a rubbish tip.
The blame probably lies at the doorstep of a few people too ignorant or too arrogant to show any responsibility to the community in which they reside.
Fly tipping is a problem that affects the rest of the country, of course.
But it takes only a little effort from everyone to make our town somewhere pleasant to live and from today, we will be focussing on efforts being made by local people to change things.
So if you are organising a tidy-up, or if you are aware of an on-going fly tipping problem, then let us know.
We will do our best to highlight the issue and drive home the message that our town is not a dumping ground.
