WORK was due to start today to repair the surfaces of the borough's rural roads.
The work will also reduce the risk of skidding and involves planing, patching and then overlaying the road with tar and chip surface dressing.
The £220,000 job will be done by Ringway Specialist Treatments and is programmed to last five weeks.
Roads to be repaired are:
B4192 Callas Hill junction with C149 to boundary, Wanborough;
C117 Freke Arms to Hannington. Speed limits will apply;
C117 Hannington to Castle Eaton. Speed limits will apply;
Unclassified road Bodyhorse Hill, Bishopstone;
Unclassified road White Hill, Hinton Parva;
Unclassified road Elcombe ( A4361 to B4500 );
Unclassified road Hodson Road, Coate;
C145 Hannington to Hannington Wick;
C144 Trenchard Road, Stanton Fitzwarren.
