ROSE Dash is surfing the internet for the first time thanks to radio station Swindon 107 FM.

Rose, 55, from Rodbourne, Swindon, won a special set top box after entering a competition on air.

The box, donated by Computer World in Swindon, allows users to access e-mails through their TV. This will be the first time Rose has embarked on the information highway.

She said: "I am really looking forward to e-mailing family and friends.

"I have never used the internet before, so it is particularly exciting. I am thrilled to have won."

Listeners had to name the local building being referred to from four clues broadcast on Simon Hawkins' Breakfast Show earlier this month.

The answer was the STEAM museum. Rose admitted it was her husband, Roger, 55, who guessed first.

She said: "One of the clues was that Prince Charles opened the building. Because we live in Rodbourne we both knew the answer, but Roger beat me to it."

Rose plans to use the device to contact her daughter, Karen, 32, who lives in Cornwall, and niece Lorraine, 39, who lives in Australia. "It will be great to stay in closer touch with loved ones,'' she said.
