SHAW Judo Club has been given a little more bounce after being awarded a grant to buy a new mat.
The club has received a £500 Co-op community dividend grant to give members a softer landing.
Club chairman and coach, Mike Crowe, is delighted with the money.
He is a second Dan who has been practising judo for 23 years.
Mike said: "Although very controlled, the moves require a good quality mat and ours has worn thin over the years we could see through it in places."
The club, which was founded in 1995, meets every Tuesday and Friday and has children between the ages of seven and 16.
Part of the reason it needs a new mat is that it has recently changed venues, moving from a local school hall to Prime Bodies Gym.
Mike said: "We have been fundraising ourselves and are very grateful to the Co-op for its contribution to the total."
The club is looking for new members and anyone who is interested in more details about the club should contact Mike on Swindon 881383.
